Lake Nelson Facts
The lake is privately owned and maintained by the Lake Nelson Improvement Association, directed and supported by members who are area residents paying yearly dues. The lake covers 14.5 acres, is aobut 2,500 feet long, and ranges from 200 to 300 feet wide. The average depth is now about three feet, with the deepest area almost eight feet. The lake is 59 feet about sea level, and drains a watershed of 3,140 acres, of which 440 acres drain directly into the lake.
